Single mom Jen Robbins, a writer for the local newspaper, has lost the Christmas spirit since her ex-husband left her six years ago on Christmas Eve. She wants to create a happy life for her son Eric, who still believes in Santa Claus, and is searching for a father figure for him. She thinks Sam Franklin, a new investigative reporter, might be the one, but is also drawn to Chris, the mysterious Santa Claus at the shopping center. Unbeknownst to Jen, Chris is actually Kris Kringle Jr., the heir to the Christmas spirit, and is searching for a woman to become the next Mrs. Claus. Chris must convince Jen to believe in Christmas again before midnight on Christmas morning, but a cynical Jen may not be easily persuaded, and may prefer Sam, the down-to-earth good guy.
