Inhabitants of Plymouth, Oregon, forced to evacuate their homes after a corporate conglomerate's environmental disaster, are relocated to a lunar colony led by Mayor Wendell Mackenzies. Despite rules against having children, Doctor Addy Mathewson gets pregnant, and her daughters Hannah and April, and sons Jed, Eugene, and younger ones, are born on the moon.
