In Texas, Reno's six-month relationship with Holly is put to the test. His jealousy is fueled by Holly's reluctance to give him a special favor before marriage. After being fired and evicted, Reno inherits a mansion and Mercedes from his uncle in Los Angeles. With a mortgage to pay, Reno and Holly decide to rent out two rooms to strangers. When two attractive roommates, Chad and Nicole, move in, Reno and Holly's jealousy grows. Just as Reno is about to propose, he discovers his invention, a boxing bag, has been stolen.
