In the next movie, a British force led by Colonel Brand, a respected officer Sharpe has worked with before, embarks on a mission to destroy a French fort containing vital ammunition and supplies. The team includes a disfigured major skilled in explosives and Major General Ross, who views the operation as a chance to gather intelligence. However, unbeknownst to them, Colonel Brand is secretly working for the French, and the mission is actually a trap to capture General Ross.
