Maggie Whelan, a TV reporter, boards a Concorde jet on its inaugural commercial flight from Washington D.C. to Paris and Moscow as a goodwill gesture before the 1980 Olympic Games. She receives documents revealing her boyfriend, Dr. Kevin Harrison, is involved in illegally selling arms to enemy regimes. Despite this, Maggie plans to make a public statement about the issue. However, Kevin has other plans, intending to destroy the documents by bringing down the Concorde with Maggie on board, framing the attack on a activist group.
