Ben Randall, a skilled Coast Guard rescue swimmer, is forced to retrain after a devastating accident claims the lives of his crew and ends his marriage. He's sent to the US Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer "A" School to instruct new recruits, where he clashes with Jake, a former swimming champion who thinks his past achievements qualify him for the job.
