During the Cold War, British Intelligence receives a blurred photo from East Germany, which Director LeClerc believes shows missiles. The agent, Taylor King, is found dead, and the police suspect a hit-and-run. LeClerc recruits Polish defector Fred Leiser, promising salary, insurance, and asylum, to spy on the East German facility. Trained by Agent John Avery, Leiser crosses the border, meets Anna, and begins a perilous journey as a pawn in a high-stakes game.
