In the frozen landscape of Antarctica, a US research station is disrupted by a helicopter from a nearby Norwegian base, seeking to eliminate a loose dog. Following the destruction of the chopper, the American team visits the Norwegian station, only to find the crew dead or missing. Amidst the chaos, they stumble upon the charred remains of a mysterious creature, which they soon identify as an extraterrestrial being. As the team delves deeper, they realize that this alien can assimilate into other living organisms, including humans, and spread like a virus, threatening the very existence of the base.
