In the 2001 movie, Zenon Kar is 2 years older and still mischievous, but her meddling leads to unexpected consequences. After accidentally emptying Commander Plank's office, she's assigned to work in the Alien Patrol lab. The space station is now under military command, and General Hammond replaces Commander Plank. Zenon is tasked with caring for his demanding daughter, Margie, who threatens to have Zenon and her family kicked off the station if she doesn't obey. Meanwhile, the space station is being decommissioned due to damage from a previous plot. Zenon discovers this and decides to sneak to Earth to try and stop it, with Margie secretly following. They track down Proto Zoa, who joins them, and they meet with friendly aliens who need the space station's navigation charts to get home. The aliens repair the space station as a thank-you, and the station is saved. Commander Plank and General Hammond are assigned to command the station together, and Aunt Judy marries Plank. The movie ends with Zenon and Margie becoming friends, and Zenon developing feelings for Orion.
