Replicant background

Replicant

A groundbreaking experiment creates a genetic clone of a notorious serial killer, with the goal of using the duplicate to capture the original and bring an end to the cycle of violence.

Working on the "Torch" case, a psycho serial killer who targets women with children and sets them ablaze after death, retired detective Jake Riley is pulled back into the game when the NSA offers him a job. The killer's obsession with Riley has ended with his retirement, but the NSA wants to test a new technology by giving Riley a replicant, or clone, of the killer to help track down the real one. As Riley navigates this new partnership, he uncovers a shocking truth: that no one is born a murderer.
