Christopher Gardner, a man who invested in a bone density scanner, struggles to sell the devices due to their high price and limited improvement over x-rays. As his life falls apart, he loses his apartment and becomes homeless with his son. To make ends meet, Gardner sells the scanners while pursuing an unpaid internship as a stockbroker, with a slim chance of advancement. He must outshine his competition and sell his devices to stay afloat.
