A former CIA agent, struggling with a drinking problem, starts writing a memoir after leaving his job. Meanwhile, his wife's lover, a State Department official, is expecting her to leave her husband for him. Two fitness center employees stumble upon a CD-ROM containing sensitive information, which they attempt to sell to the agent. However, he rejects their offer, and they decide to steal more of his secrets, leading to a series of events that culminate at his home.
