Dick Turpin, a charming English highwayman, helps a noblewoman, Alice Brookfield, avoid an unwanted marriage to Lord Churlton. As they travel to London together, Alice disguises herself as a boy, and they evade Churlton's pursuit. After a thrilling escape, Dick is captured and sentenced to death, but he manages to escape and eventually marries Alice, giving up his life of crime to settle down with his new wife.
