In the movie, Belle Starr has just been released from prison and returns to her ranch, only to discover her foreman Ringo is secretly rustling cattle. Ringo has planted his accomplice Twister on the ranch, and Hoppy soon finds the cattle stampeded by Twister. Hoppy decides to secretly mark the cattle, hoping it will lead him to the rustlers and their buyer.
