In Baltimore, a street dancer named Tyler Gage lives with his foster parents in a low-income neighborhood. He's a troublemaker who loves to dance and party with his friends Mac and Skinny. After getting kicked out of a party, they break into a school and vandalize the stage. Tyler is arrested and sentenced to community service at the school, where he meets a ballet dancer named Nora Clark. Nora sees Tyler dancing and asks for his help with choreography, and they become close friends. As Tyler becomes friends with the school's students, he must decide whether to follow his dreams or return to his old life.
