Jim Lane, a daredevil test pilot, lives life on the edge, both professionally and personally. When his plane malfunctions, he makes an emergency landing on a Kansas farm, where he meets Ann Barton, the daughter of the farmer. The two impulsively get married and move to New York, but Jim's obsession with flying puts a strain on their relationship.
