Casper stumbles into the world of the living, befriending a 10-year-old boy named Chris Carson who shares his passion for the supernatural. Chris's workaholic father, Tim, is busy demolishing an old mansion, but Casper and Chris team up with the Ghostly Trio to help him become a better ghost. However, their fun is short-lived as Kibosh, the head of Ghost Central, sends his assistant Snivel to capture Casper and bring him back.
