Hoppy is hired by Editor Saunders to investigate the murder of a miner, whose claim is now owned by Lilli Marsh. The killer, Blackie, is revealed to be Lilli's henchman, and Hoppy must face him and his gang, ultimately taking down the outlaws and confronting Lilli alone.
