Monstrous sea creatures, known as Kaiju, have sparked a devastating war that has ravaged humanity and depleted its resources. To counter the giant monsters, massive robots called Jaegers were developed, controlled by two pilots in tandem. Despite their strength, the Jaegers are struggling to withstand the relentless Kaiju attacks. With defeat looming, the last hope for humanity lies with an unlikely duo: a former pilot struggling to regain his former glory and a novice trainee with a lot to prove.
