In a Florida university lab, a scientist's experiment to revive brain tissue in baboons goes awry, unleashing a deadly "rage virus". A journalist who breaks into the lab is bitten by an infected baboon, and the virus quickly spreads to a group of violent individuals, including rapists and a valley girl, who go on a murderous rampage.
