Detective Alberto Santana arrives in New York to celebrate his daughter Celeste's 18th birthday, but is suddenly shot by a hooded figure with a religious message. Years later, Celeste is a detective, partnering with Joe Bruno, when they're tasked with investigating the murders of two released criminals who were executed in the same modus operandi as Santana's killer. As they dig deeper, they team up with narcotics detectives Manso and Demarco to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, Celeste meets and dates Dante, who is involved with a deranged twin brother Perfecto, who begins to target Joe.
