The New Interns background

The New Interns

A fresh take on a classic medical drama, this new series delves into the challenges faced by young doctors and nurses at a renowned US hospital, inspired by the 1962 film 'The Interns'.

Alec Considine, a former Playboy, returns to New North Hospital for another internship year after a mental breakdown. He guides new interns, including Tony Parelli, a former slum boy, and Phil Osterman, who smuggles his wife into the quarters. Parelli falls for Nancy Terman, a social worker, but she's traumatized after being raped by delinquents he knew. Meanwhile, Dr. Lew Worship learns he's sterile and considers adoption, and Parelli confronts his enemies after a fight.
