Captain James Marshall is tasked with evading the British blockade and securing a secret loan from France during the War of 1812. He hires Ben Waldridge, a former British Navy Captain, as his first mate, along with his former crew, who begin plotting mutiny once they discover there's gold on board. Waldridge's past is complicated by his former sweetheart Leslie, who joins the crew and has her own motives for being there, leaving Captain Marshall to wonder whose side Waldridge is really on.
