Spacy Callahan, a young teenager, faces two major challenges: being confined in an Iowa juvenile facility that resembles a military prison and being at risk of sexual abuse by the corrupt jailer, Mr. Kibby. Despite the harsh conditions, Spacy finds solace in his friendship with Gary. However, things take a turn for the worse when a naive new inmate arrives, threatening to expose their plans. Spacy and Gary decide to take a risk and escape, hoping to find refuge with Spacy's mother, who has recently divorced his abusive father.
