Two aspiring musicians' careers take a dramatic turn when they team up with a charismatic and up-and-coming singer.
A struggling piano duo, the Fabulous Baker Boys, consisting of brothers Frank and Jack, are hired by Frank to add a singer to their act to boost their popularity. After 37 failed auditions, they find Susie Diamond, a woman with no formal singing experience but strong stage presence and sex appeal.
