A former actress, struggling with addiction, finds solace in her childhood home, a desperate attempt to revive her fortunes and break free from financial ruin.

The movie follows Suzanne, a struggling Hollywood actress addicted to substances, who is forced to live with her mother, Doris, a former star and current heavy drinker, as a condition of continuing her acting career. This setup is a challenge for Suzanne, who has always struggled to establish her own identity separate from her mother's shadow. Despite the difficulties, Suzanne begins to find humor in her situation and comes to realize that mothers have their own struggles and stories too.
