Alexander Babara was born in the capital city of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau, formerly part of the USSR, where he was exposed to a diverse linguistic environment, becoming fluent in Russian, Romanian, Ukrainian, and English.
Growing up, he was an artist at heart, and his passion for self-expression led him to explore various creative outlets, including breakdancing, music, and rap. This innate talent was nurtured from a young age, and he continued to seek ways to express himself artistically throughout his life.
Alexander's upbringing was marked by the influence of his mother, a skilled cook, and his stepfather, a dedicated farmer. The values and work ethic instilled in him by his family played a significant role in shaping his future.
At the age of 22, Alexander left his homeland in pursuit of the American Dream, accompanied only by a close friend and a modest sum of $400. Despite struggling with a limited grasp of the English language, he settled in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he discovered a newfound passion for acting and fell in love with the vibrant city.
Alexander's academic pursuits led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film, Theater, and Communication Arts from the University of New Orleans. He also became a proud US citizen, a testament to his determination and perseverance.
Today, Alexander resides in New Orleans with his wife and two young sons, and his acting career has taken him on a journey alongside esteemed stars such as Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Charlize Theron, Vin Diesel, Gal Gadot, Aron Paul, Norman Reedus, and many others.
In the near future, Alexander will share the screen with Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, and Tye Sheridan in the upcoming drama The Card Counter, written and directed by Paul Schrader and produced by Martin Scorsese.
