Antonio Wannek's life story began in 1979 in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Germany, where he was born and raised. At the tender age of 11, Antonio's rebellious nature led him to defy the conventional norms of school, and it was during this time that he crossed paths with director Klaus Gendries, who saw immense potential in the young boy and handed him the lead role in the 14-part mini-series "Viel Rummel um Scooter". This early success was followed by several other projects, including the 1992 Wolfgang Becker movie "Child's Play", which marked a significant milestone in Antonio's career. However, it wasn't long before Antonio returned to his normal life and school plays, seemingly putting his acting ambitions on the backburner.
Fast forward to 1997, when Antonio's life took another dramatic turn. Edward Berger, a renowned director, was on the lookout for the perfect lead for his movie "Gomez - Kopf oder Zahl", and it was during a school play that Antonio caught his attention. Berger was impressed by Antonio's raw talent and saw immense potential in the young actor. The collaboration between the two was nothing short of magical, and the movie's success, both critically and commercially, left Antonio with no doubt that acting was his true calling.
