Anupam Tripathi is a renowned Indian actor who has gained international recognition as the breakout star of the Netflix hit series "Squid Game" (2021). As #199, also known as 'Ali Abdul,' he won the hearts of fans worldwide with his endearing portrayal of a Pakistani migrant worker who plays the game to support his infant child and wife. Tripathi made his screen debut in the hit Korean drama feature "Ode to My Father" (2014),followed by appearances in popular Korean TV shows such as "Descendants of the Sun" (2016) and "Hospital Playlist" (2020),as well as Netflix's Korean sci-fi sensation "Space Sweepers" (2021).
Originally from New Delhi, India, Tripathi began his journey in the performing arts by joining a theatre group in his hometown in 2006. In 2010, Tripathi won a scholarship and moved to Korea to attend the prestigious Korea National University of Arts in Seoul, where he studied Korean for two years and earned his undergraduate degree.
