Asante, a talented individual, currently resides in Los Angeles, yet his roots are firmly planted in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was born in 1968. His lifelong passion for acting was ignited at the tender age of seven, during a visit to his cousin, Greg Morris, the renowned actor from the Mission Impossible franchise, in Beverly Hills. Asante vividly recalls thinking, "whatever he did to acquire a pool in his backyard, I'm going to do it."
Asante's academic journey began at John Marshall High School, where he graduated in 1986. He then spent four formative years at the prestigious Karamu House Theater in Cleveland, honing his skills as both an actor and a lighting technician. This dual expertise enabled him to embark on a tour with Shelly Garrett Entertainment in November 1992, featuring the hilarious production Beauty Shop Part 2. During this time, Asante shared a room with none other than Academy Award nominee Michael Clarke Duncan.
After a decade of dedication, Asante made the move to Los Angeles in September 1996. Following a ten-month period of perseverance, he decided to join Disney as the Master Electrician for DisneyFest Asia, the largest tour of its kind at the time, in Singapore. Returning to LA in March 1998, Asante began to make significant strides in his Hollywood acting career. He appeared in various low-budget films, both starring and supporting roles, allowing him to develop a robust resume and accumulate valuable on-camera experience.
In recent years, Asante has continued to advance his career by guest-starring on popular television shows such as NCIS, I'm With Her, and Malcolm in the Middle. His earlier appearance on Diagnosis Murder is also worth noting. Furthermore, Asante is actively working to sell his screenplay, Undying Love, while simultaneously developing his second screenplay.
