Atul Parchure was a renowned Indian television actor who actively worked in both Hindi and Marathi shows throughout his career. Born on November 30, 1966, in Mumbai, he spent his childhood and youth in the same city, completing his schooling and college education there.
Atul's early life was deeply connected to the world of theatre, where he participated in several Marathi and Hindi plays. Some of his notable plays include Tarun Turk Mhatare Arka, Priyatama, and Vasu Chi Sasu. His theatre background eventually led him to venture into the world of television, making his debut with the Hindi film Bedardi in 1993.
Atul's film career spanned over three decades, with notable Bollywood films such as Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Meri Pyaari Bahania Banegi Dulhania, Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Style, Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa, Chor Machaye Shor, God Only Knows, Calcutta Mail, Jajantaram Mamantaram, Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Yakeen, Kyo Ki, Chakachak, Kalyug, and Anjaane - The Unknown. His recent movies include Pappu's Path, Choron Ki Baraat, Zindagi 50 50, Narbachi Wadi, Love Recipe, Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein, Zakaas, and Khatta Meetha.
Apart from his Bollywood career, Atul also appeared in several Marathi films, including Navra Maza Navsacha, Aamhi Satpute, and Dattoba Lingappa Kaikini. Laxman Ki Duniya, Comedy Nights with Kapil, Comedy Circus, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe, Bh Se Bhade, Badi Door Se Aaye Hai, Yam Hain Hum, Honar Sun Me Hya Gharchi, and Bhago Mohan Pyare.
Tragically, Atul's life was cut short when he passed away on October 14, 2024, at the age of 57, after a long battle with cancer. He had been diagnosed with the disease in 2023 and underwent treatment, but unfortunately, it was too late to save his life.
In an interview with Bombay Times in July 2023, Atul spoke candidly about his struggles with cancer, saying, "I was mentally prepared that something was wrong with me. Despite maintaining a positive outlook, the absence of work caused me sleepless nights. It's not like negative thoughts didn't cross my mind. I had many sleepless nights worrying about when I would resume work. On one hand, the income stopped, while the expenses began, and the costs for cancer treatment are enormous."
