Brianne Banigan Leary, an American actress and inventor, was born on July 28, 1957, in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Her early life was marked by a strong athletic background, as she was a gymnastics champion in high school Canyon at Del Oro in Tucson, Arizona, USA, finishing in the top three at the State Championship in 1974. She attended Pima Junior College, also in Tucson, Arizona.
Leary's television career began in 1976 as a contestant on the popular game show Match Game, where she won several games and earned over $9,000. She returned to the show three years later as a celebrity panelist, becoming the only person to appear on the show as both a contestant and a panelist. Her early television appearances also included a role as "Lieutenant Nurse Susan Ames" on the NBC series Black Sheep Squadron from 1977 to 1978, and as "Officer Sindy Cahill" in the second season of CHiPs from 1978 to 1979.
Leary made numerous guest appearances on various television shows, including Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Fall Guy, Simon & Simon, The Paper Chase, and 1st & Ten. She also appeared on two episodes of Battle of the Network Stars, a celebrity sports competition series. In addition to her television work, Leary created a Canadian children's TV show, "Stickin' Around", with Robin Steele in 1996.
In the early 2000s, Leary co-anchored WNYW New York's "Good Day New York" and later received a patent for her "portable device for cleaning an animal's paw" product, "Pet Plunger", in 2007. Her mother was the Assistant City Editor for the Arizona Daily Star, and she is the cousin of writer Timothy Leary.
