Chris Long is a renowned television director and producer, celebrated for his outstanding work on various critically acclaimed series and projects. In 2019, he received numerous prestigious awards, including a Golden Globe, Producers Guild Award, AFI award, TCA Award, Critics Choice Award, and a Peabody Award, all for his work on the final season of The Americans. As the lead Director and Executive Producer, he brought this critically acclaimed series to life for FX.
Long's impressive portfolio includes his recent work on the independent movie The Up and Comer, based on the best-selling book of the same name written by Howard Roughan. The movie is set to be released in 2025. He has also been involved in several TV projects, including The Patient (Hulu),the Steve Carell-led limited series, and Suspicion (Apple UK),a global thriller starring Uma Thurman and Kunal Nayyar.

Born and raised in London, England, Long began his career in the entertainment industry as a Sound Engineer for recording studios, before transitioning to theatre sound design and eventually Post Production Dubbing Mixer at Molinare Studios in Soho. After moving to the U.S., he continued working in Post Production on various TV shows, including Lois and Clark - The new adventures of Superman. He quickly rose through the ranks to become a Director/Producer, directing and producing the international hit The Mentalist for seven seasons.
Long's success led to an overall deal at Warner Bros TV and the establishment of his own production company, Scallie Filmworks Inc, which he runs with his partner and writer, Erin Donovan. Through Scallie Filmworks, they produced, directed, and sold worldwide a documentary, A Tale of Two Thieves - The Great British Train Robbery, which solved a 50-year-old cold case. They also sold the premise as a drama to ITV in the UK, with Bruno Heller.
