This gripping drama is based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink and follows the harrowing events that unfolded in a New Orleans hospital during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
In addition to his television endeavors, Smith will also take to the stage this summer as the titular character in the world premiere of AMERICAN PROPHET at Arena Stage in Washington DC. This new musical, penned by Charles Randolph-Wright and Grammy winner Marcus Hummon, will chronicle the remarkable life of human rights leader Frederick Douglass.
