Curtis Stone, a renowned chef, embarked on his culinary journey at the tender age of 18, commencing his apprenticeship at The Savoy Hotel in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia. Following the completion of his culinary qualifications, he ventured to Europe, exploring the gastronomic wonders of Italy, France, and Spain before finally arriving in London.
In London, Curtis had the privilege of cooking alongside the esteemed Marco Pierre White, who was, at the time, the youngest chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. Curtis began his tenure at Marco's restaurant, The Grill Room, Café Royal, on the very same afternoon. His subsequent stint as Sous Chef at the Mirabelle played a crucial role in the creation of the "Mirabelle Cookbook," for which the restaurant was later awarded a Michelin Star. Curtis eventually rose to the position of head chef at Marco's Quo Vadis, garnering widespread critical acclaim for his exceptional culinary skills.
Curtis's inclusion in the book "London on a Plate," which showcased London's finest chefs, led to the acquisition of an agent and numerous media opportunities. This recognition not only boosted his personal profile but also contributed to the increased popularity of the restaurant, resulting in a significant waiting list.
Based in Los Angeles, California, Curtis has since hosted the popular cooking show "Take Home Chef" for the Discovery Networks' TLC channel. Prior to this, he filmed his first major television series in Australia in 2003, titled "Surfing the Menu," which was followed by three additional series. In 2004, Curtis hosted the Australian reality series "My Restaurant Rules" on Channel 7. He has also appeared on various other shows, including "Dinner in a Box," "Good Food Live," and "Saturday Kitchen."
Curtis has made notable appearances on NBC's The Today Show on two separate occasions. He has also appeared on Martha Stewart's show, Martha Stewart Living, where he revealed his single status, and prepared two of his signature dishes. Furthermore, Curtis has appeared on Stacy London's talk show, Fashionably Late with Stacy London, as well as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Fox Morning Show, and Entertainment Tonight.
