Damien Atkins, a talented individual, hails from Australia but has made Toronto his home. His extensive theatrical experience has taken him across Canada and the United States, gracing stages at renowned festivals such as the Shaw and Stratford Festivals, as well as television and movie screens.
At the tender age of five, Damien began his acting journey with the St. Albert Children's Theatre, a prestigious organization in Alberta that produces theatre by children, for adults. He later honed his craft at the theatre arts program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, where he gained expertise in classical, modern, and musical theatre.
Damien's impressive repertoire boasts performances in plays by literary giants such as Shakespeare, Wilde, and Pinter, as well as modern classics by writers like Timothy Findley, Brad Fraser, and Mark Ravenhill.
On television, he has made appearances on NBC ("The Matthew Shepard Story"),CBC ("This is Wonderland"),BBC, CTV, Showtime ("Our Fathers"),TMN, and the Sundance Channel, including a recurring role in season 3 of the acclaimed Canadian series "Slings and Arrows".
As a playwright, Damien's work has been produced across the country and on CBC Radio, and he holds the distinction of being the youngest playwright ever produced by the Stratford Festival. His exceptional talent has earned him two Dora Mavor Moore Awards, Toronto's prestigious awards for theatre excellence.
