Person Biography:
Darcy Rose Byrnes has been performing since the tender age of three. She made her television debut as 'Abby' in CBS's soap opera series "The Young & the Restless" at the age of five, a role she held from 2003 to 2008. During this time, she received an Emmy pre-nomination for her portrayal of Abby.
In addition to her work on "The Young & the Restless," Darcy Rose also appeared as a recurring guest star on "The Bold and the Beautiful."
From 2010 to 2012, Darcy Rose played the role of 'Penny Scavo' in the hit drama series "Desperate Housewives." After the show concluded, she focused on voice-over work, lending her talents to characters such as 'Princess Amber' in "Sofia the First" and "Elena of Avalor," 'Ikki' in "The Legend of Korra," and 'Maricela' in Dreamwork's Netflix series, "Spirit: Riding Free."
Most recently, Darcy Rose has taken on the role of 'Harper,' a driven journalist at her elite private high school, in Disney+'s exclusive dramedy TV series, "Big Shot," starring John Stamos. She was heavily involved in the show's music, writing and arranging multiple numbers, including "Double Double" and "Fight for the Crown."
Darcy Rose is a professionally trained dancer who began studying Ballroom and Latin dance at the age of eleven. She competed in her first dance competition, The Las Vegas Lights Dance Challenge, in 2018, taking first place in all 15 ballroom categories. Her second competition was a Latin competition for The Hollywood DanceSport Championships, where she earned a first-place medal for her rumba to the recording of her own song "Chasin' the Picture."
Darcy Rose started homeschooling halfway through second grade and tested out of her high school program at the age of fifteen. As an Irish and American dual citizen, she joined both British Equity and Irish Equity and attended Michael Howard Studio (NYC) to study with Patsy Rodenburg. She was accepted into the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Lir, and RADA, but ultimately decided to stay in LA and attend Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB).
At UCB, Darcy Rose studied longform improv, specialty forms, and musical improv, graduating in 2018. She auditioned for UCB's musical mess hall team, Power Play, and went on to produce musical improv and stand-up comedy shows in the Hollywood Fringe, winning an encore extension award and the Burbank Comedy Festival twice as a musical stand-up comedian.
Darcy Rose is also a prolific writer, having written over 200 songs, and plays 20 different instruments. She has a passion for learning languages and is most fluent in American Sign Language, besides English.
In 2024, Darcy Rose starred as Mary Lane in the 25th Anniversary revival of Reefer Madness: the Musical at the Whitley Theatre in Hollywood, CA.
