David Graf, a native of Lancaster, Ohio, embarked on a remarkable journey that would take him from his humble beginnings to the spotlight of the entertainment industry. Born and raised in Lancaster, Graf was a proud alumnus of Lancaster High School, where he graduated in 1968. His academic pursuits continued at Otterbein University, where he earned a degree in theater in 1972.
Graf's thirst for knowledge and passion for the performing arts led him to further his education at Ohio State University, where he attended graduate school until 1975. However, his aspirations took an unexpected turn when he decided to drop out of graduate school to pursue an acting career in the vibrant city of New York.
The big break came in 1981 with the release of the film "Four Friends," marking Graf's entry into the world of cinema. Throughout his career, Graf remained true to his roots, returning to Lancaster each year in October to participate in the Fairfield County Fair. This annual tradition allowed him to maintain a connection with his hometown and the people who mattered most to him.
Tragically, Graf's life was cut short in a cruel coincidence. He passed away at the same age and under the same medical condition as his father. Despite this devastating loss, Graf's legacy lives on through his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kathryn Graf, and their two sons, Daniel and Sean. His mother and brother, who reside in Zanesville, Ohio, also mourn his passing.
