David Hewlett is a multifaceted individual, possessing a deep passion for assistive technologies and a lifelong commitment to learning.
As a child, David was captivated by the intriguing world of Doctor Who, which sparked a desire to become a genius Time Lord. While reality may not have led him to achieve this goal, it did steer him towards a successful career in acting.
David is married to the talented and accomplished producer, Jane Loughman, who has earned numerous awards for her work.
One of David's most notable projects is TechBandits.org, a curiosity-driven Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math club that encourages life-long learning through YouTube, Twitch, and in-person events at local schools and community centers.
His enthusiasm for assistive technology led him to collaborate with gamer, influencer, and raconteur Lance Carr and Google on GameFace, an AI-powered head-tracking mouse released at GoogleIO 2023.
David also works with the University of Toronto on his educational Escape Room design learning initiative.
Beyond his creative pursuits, David actively participates in speaking engagements and podcasts worldwide, sharing his insights and inspiring the next generation of brilliant minds to "be brave, be kind, be curious".
