Biography

David Kerr is a renowned Film & TV Director, boasting a distinguished career in the industry. His original comedy series, "Man Vs. Bee", premiered on Netflix on June 24, 2022, with David directing all nine episodes, featuring the legendary Rowan Atkinson.

David's feature film debut, "Johnny English Strikes Again", also starred Rowan Atkinson alongside Emma Thompson, and received widespread critical acclaim. Described by Forbes Magazine as "a genuine laugh riot" and The Washington Post as "hilarious, timeless slapstick", it became the highest-grossing comedy at the international box office in 2018.

On Christmas Eve 2020, David's feature-length film, "Roald & Beatrix: The Tale Of The Curious Mouse", premiered on Sky One, telling the story of the meeting of two of Britain's finest children's authors. The film stars Dawn French and won the Best TV Movie award at the Banff World Media Festival.

David's comedic talents were first honed in TV, where he won the Best Comedy BAFTA for "That Mitchell and Webb Look", starring David Mitchell, Robert Webb, and Olivia Colman. As the lead director of the student house-share comedy "Fresh Meat", written by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, David brought together the cast and set the show's style, earning the show six awards, including the RTS for Best Comedy.

David also directed all six films in the first season of the acclaimed anthology "Inside No.9", written by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton. His bold new feature-length version of Shakespeare's comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", from a script by Russell T. Davies, was described by The Radio Times as "stunningly ballsy...utterly life-affirming" and won an RTS Craft Award, earning a BAFTA nomination.

In addition to his work in film and television, David is a celebrated commercials director. His darkly comic gun-control PSA, "Playthings", secured a place in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art.
