David James Lewis, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, was born and raised in this vibrant city. As a child, he was taken to a drive-in by his parents to watch the iconic film Jaws, which had a profound impact on his life. The experience left him with a lasting fear of entering the water for nearly a decade, but it also ignited a passion for the film industry within him.
Upon completing his high school education, Lewis was fortunate enough to enter the rapidly growing film and television industry in Vancouver. He began his career in commercials and gradually worked his way up the ranks, landing small roles in local independent movies and television series, such as The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, and The Outer Limits.
In 1999, Lewis starred in the lead role of Shoes Off!, a short film that won the prestigious Cannes Film Award for Best Short Film. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work alongside renowned actors, including Harrison Ford, Paul Giamatti, Ben Affleck, and William H. Macy, in films such as Door to Door, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Paycheck, and Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever.
In addition to his acting work, Lewis has also written and directed several short films, including Stalled and Theatrics. Despite his busy schedule, he continues to work hard to provide for his children, who are, in his words, "miniature money vacuums."
