David Thomas Newman is a multifaceted individual with a thriving career as an actor and producer based in Los Angeles, California.
Born in Bedford, Texas, Newman's childhood was marked by a love for the outdoors, engaging in street sports, cops and robbers, and pin-the-tail-on-the-horses with his friends next door. His vivid imagination soon led him to the world of theatre, where he won awards for his performances in plays such as "The Misanthrope" by Moliere, "Get Smart" adapted from the Mel Brooks series, and "Wildboy."
Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Newman achieved the rank of Eagle Scout alongside eight of his childhood friends during his busy high school career, which was marked by a remarkable balance of theatre, soccer, mixed chorale, chess club, lumberjack club, and his own televised variety news show.
Despite his reluctance to grow up, Newman continued to pursue his passion for acting while working in the lucrative Oil & Gas industry. During his weekends, he would audition for projects and take modeling classes at Neal Hamil Agency, and he would use his Paid-Time-Off to shoot indie films.
Once he landed the lead role of Dan in "Rebar," a film by Bilal Haider, Newman was able to satisfy his creative itch, shooting an award-winning film in South Texas during the hot summer. The film garnered attention and impressed the judges of major film festivals such as Dances With Films and the Oscar-Qualifying Festival HollyShorts.
It was only natural for Newman to trade the warm, sun-kissed Texas sunsets for the bright lights of Tinseltown, and he did so by purchasing a one-way ticket to Los Angeles. He is now actively involved in acting and producing his own projects in the city, frequently collaborating with Oleg Zayanov.
Newman currently resides in San Pedro, California, and enjoys camping as often as possible.
