Born to Tamie and Larry Shaw, Doc Shaw, the only child, was blessed with a unique gift, earning him the nickname Doc from his perceptive grandparents. This exceptional talent was soon recognized by his father, who introduced him to the world of modeling. With a natural aptitude for the craft, Doc rapidly rose through the ranks, gracing numerous print ads with his presence.
However, fate had other plans. A devastating car accident in 1994 took the life of his beloved father, leaving Doc with a profound sense of loss. Undeterred, he turned to his mother for guidance, requesting her help in finding an agent to continue his career. At the tender age of six, he landed his first commercial booking, marking the beginning of a successful and storied career in the entertainment industry.
The breakthrough role that catapulted Doc to stardom came when he was cast as Malik Payne in Tyler Perry's hit TV series, House of Payne, in 2006. This critically acclaimed show not only solidified his position in the industry but also paved the way for his subsequent roles.
The following year, 2008, saw Doc take on the iconic character of Marcus Little in Disney's popular TV series, The Suite Life on Deck. His outstanding performance earned him widespread recognition and admiration, cementing his status as a rising star in the entertainment world.
As his popularity continued to soar, Doc made the difficult decision to leave The Suite Life behind, opting instead to focus on his new project, Pair of Kings, which premiered in 2010. This bold move demonstrated his commitment to exploring new creative avenues and pushing the boundaries of his talent.
