Doug has been actively engaged in a multifaceted career spanning over four decades, showcasing his exceptional talents as an actor, playwright, and voice artist.
He spent a remarkable thirteen seasons as a valued company member at the esteemed Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and another three seasons at the renowned Stratford Festival.
Throughout his illustrious career, Doug has had the privilege of working in prominent theatres across Canada and the United States, as well as in the mediums of film, television, and radio.
In collaboration with his writing partner, Marcia Kash, Doug has penned six captivating plays to date, with the first five being published by Concord Entertainment.
Collectively, their plays have garnered an impressive 300 productions worldwide, with performances taking place in sixteen countries and translations into ten languages.
Their latest creation, the comedy/thriller "Deadline", premiered at the Human Race Theatre in Dayton, Ohio, in the fall of 2022.
In addition to his work as a playwright, Doug has also ventured into novel-writing, authoring two comedies/thrillers, "The Poor Player" and its sequel, "The Shaming of the True".
Currently, Doug and Marcia are adapting their fourth play, the comedy "Jack of Diamonds", into a screenplay, further solidifying their creative partnership.
