Eddie Hargitay, a renowned American actor, was born in the vibrant city of Hollywood, California, to first-generation immigrant parents. His mother, of Thai-Chinese descent, was raised in Vietnam, while his father, of Hungarian heritage, met his mother in an "English as a second language" class at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, a city that has played a significant role in shaping his life and career.
As a proud member of The Actors Studio, Eddie is a graduate of the esteemed Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute, where he had the privilege of being mentored by the late David Lee Strasberg, renowned director Howard Deutch, and the accomplished actor Martin Landau. Throughout his extensive career, Eddie has performed in a wide range of theatre, television, and film productions, earning his SAG status on the set of David Fincher's critically acclaimed film, Fight Club. He has also had the privilege of playing the role of "Officer Montero" on the long-running and highly acclaimed television series, Law & Order SVU, opposite his talented cousin, Mariska Hargitay.
