Ethan Josh Lee is a talented American actor, widely recognized for his impressive performances in Wes Anderson's film Asteroid City and the NBC sitcom Mr. Robinson.
Starting his acting career at a young age, Ethan began performing in elementary school theater productions and later transitioned to working on commercials. In 2015, he landed a role in the short-lived NBC sitcom Mr. Robinson, where he had the opportunity to work alongside notable actors Craig Robinson and Peri Gilpin.
Ethan's television credits include guest-starring and co-starring roles in shows such as Southland, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, The Middle, K.C. Undercover, and The Mick. He has also acted in several independent films, including The Bird Who Could Fly and Kajillionaire.
In addition to his acting work, Ethan has also ventured behind the camera, creating and directing the documentary NicoTeen, which premiered at film festivals in 2019.
Ethan's latest project is Wes Anderson's latest film Asteroid City, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. In this unique film, Ethan portrays the character Ricky Cho, a science prodigy and student journalist, set in a fictional 1950s town in the American southwest. The film explores the complexity of life, art, and the vast unknown, featuring an ensemble cast navigating this extraordinary world.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ethan has had a diverse upbringing. His father, a clinical professor at UCLA, immigrated from South Korea, while his mother, who came to the US as an exchange student in college, works in finance.
Ethan graduated from Stanford University in June 2023 with a degree in Political Science and Honors in International Security Studies. He is currently based in New York City.
