Evan Shafran, professionally known as EVeryman, is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of talents. He is an actor, rapper, comedian, DJ, B-Boy, and Star Wars fan, proudly affiliated with SAG-AFTRA, Actor's Equity Association, and A.S.C.A.P.
Originally from the Deering Center area of Portland, Maine, Evan graduated from Deering High School and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Dance Theatre and Sociology from Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. He received his degree Summa Cum Laude in 2005.
Evan's professional journey took him to Brooklyn, where he co-founded Mir Productions, a new theatre company that produced his first play, "If There's Jack in the Box Get Out," and "Hear NYC." He also co-wrote and performed in these productions.
As a musician, EVeryman delivers high-energy beats, blending old school hip hop and reggae with a conscious and optimistic lyrical approach. He is also a skilled DJ, capable of spinning a wide range of genres, from breaks and glitch hop to drum and bass. EVeryman is one half of the hip hop group Little Giants, formed with LA DJ and producer Pumpkin, aka Nick Alvarado.
In addition to his music career, Evan has appeared in several films and television shows, including the Oscar-winning film "Get Out" and the web series "Boyz in the Wood." He has also starred in the film "Storyteller," which was selected as a semifinalist for "Best Dramatic Short" at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.
Evan's personal life is marked by tragedy, as he lost his best friend and musical comrade, Pumpkin, in 2016. He continues to honor Pumpkin's memory by playing his music and incorporating unreleased Little Giants productions into his sets.
Evan is also a published author, co-authoring the children's book "The Little Giant Acorn," available on Amazon Books. He has performed and toured with notable acts such as Pretty Lights, Odesza, and Mark Farina, and has graced festival stages at Coachella, Burning Man, Shambhala, and Lightning in a Bottle.
Evan's family has played a significant role in his life and career. His father, Jeffrey Shafran, still resides in Portland, Maine, along with his brother Brad, a popular yoga instructor. Evan's mother, Theda Shafran, was a strong supporter of his performing arts endeavors and encouraged him to pursue his passions. She passed away in 1997, but her legacy lives on through Evan's continued dedication to his craft.
Evan's personal life is also marked by his love for old school and underground hip hop, as well as his enthusiasm for Star Wars. He currently resides in a loft in downtown Los Angeles with his friends, the Ceres Boys.
