Biography

Born on February 17, 1941, in the city of Rochester, New York, a pivotal moment that would shape the trajectory of his life. After completing his high school education, he took the bold step of joining the United States Navy in 1958, marking the beginning of his journey towards a life in the performing arts. His academic pursuits took him to the University of North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre in 1966.

With a strong foundation in his craft, he ventured to the city of New York to hone his skills under the guidance of renowned acting coaches Uta Hagen, Mira Rostova, Bobby Lewis, and Michael Shurtleff. His professional debut as R.P. McMurphy in the iconic play One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the Little Fox Theatre in San Francisco in 1969 was a significant milestone in his career.

Returning to New York, he went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Theatre from Hunter College in 1973. His subsequent appointment at the Long Wharf Theatre in Ibsen's Masterbuilder was a testament to his growing reputation as a talented actor. The opportunity to further his education led him to the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, where he completed a one-year postgraduate program.

In 1975, he returned to Los Angeles, where he founded the Los Angeles Academy of Dramatic Art, a venture that would occupy him until 1982. He then returned to New York to teach acting at Hunter College, a role he held until 1985. Following the birth of his children, he relocated back to Los Angeles, where he remarried in 1994.

The following year, he made the bold decision to relocate to Utah, where he opened Park City Music and the Utah Conservatory, both of which have thrived for over a decade. In 2004, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Studies from Rochville University, a remarkable achievement that further solidified his reputation as a scholar and educator.

As the Executive Director of the Utah Conservatory, he has continued to make films and has directed six musicals at the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft.
