Garrett Backstrom, born on October 25, 1995, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was raised in a Christian household by his parents, Elizabeth and Gary Backstrom. His strong faith was shaped during his formative years, and it continues to play a significant role in his life.
From a young age, Garrett had a passion for filmmaking, which drove him to pursue his ambitions in California. He began his acting career in 2010, starring in a range of shows and movies, including "Brothers & Sisters" (2011),"Lab Rats" (2012),"Jesse" (2012),"Hello Herman" (2012),"Motel Life" (2012),and "Summer Snow" (2014).
Garrett's educational background is impressive. He attended Brighton Hall, where he was elected student body president, developed valuable leadership skills, and fostered long-lasting relationships within the film industry. He then went on to attend Loyola Marymount University, where he majored in film production. During his time at college, Garrett honed his skills by producing and directing various commercials, music videos, and narrative productions. He also acted in two feature films, "Late Bloomer" (2016) and "Bad Impulse" (2020).
Garrett's academic journey culminated in his graduation from the School of Film and Television at Loyola Marymount University in 2018. After completing his studies, he worked as an assistant on Aaron Sorkin's "The Trial of the Chicago 7" (2020). Currently, Garrett is producing a feature film with Dutch Hofstetter, written by Howard Klausner, and directed by Sean McNamara. This project is inspired by the life of Christian icon, George Mueller.
