Garrett Garth O'Brien, a second-generation American, was born on February 13, 1980, in Escondido, California, to Darlene (Tingle) and Garth J. O'Brien. His grandfather, a Scottish immigrant, had initially settled in Canada before relocating to San Diego, California, where his father was born.
Growing up in Escondido, California, Garrett attended and graduated from Orange Glen High School, where he likely developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
Garrett's interest in film began at a young age, but he didn't immediately pursue it as a career. Instead, he explored various fields before finding his true calling. His passion for media arts and animation ultimately led him to attend The Art Institute of Inland Empire, where he honed his skills in his chosen field.
